First of all, a BIG "Thank you!" to everyone who made it out to our November 7th demonstration alerting the public to the environmental and health risks associated with Detroit Edison's impending implosion of their abandoned Marysville power plant. You guys rule!

The implosion date may be only days away, but there are still things you can do to help!

  • Alert friends, family and other members of the community to the environmental and health risks associated with the demolition.
  • Be sure to meet or exceed the safety measures advised by the demolition crew, including staying out of the 1500ft "zone of exclusion" and reminding those planning to spectate at the event that a significant amount of dust (potentially containing asbestos or other toxic materials) will be airborne during the demolition and masks are strongly advised as a precautionary measure
  • Stay educated in the aftermath of this demolition. Continue to monitor potential health and environmental effects that may be felt during and after the demolition and cleanup phase such as toxic dust spreading pollutants via land and water.
